2008 PGA Merchandise Show

Well, the PGA Merchandise Show is in the books. I spent something like $13K on booth, signs, travel, etc. Overall, it looks like money very well spent because I have seen a big uptick in interest levels both on the website and in my email inbox. I met some really extraordinary people at the show too. Tony Korologos of HookedOnGolfBlog.com came by the booth to check out the Swing Gauge and do an interview.
Thanks to Ron Xifo and my dad for helping me run the booth! Thanks to Brandi and Larry Koch for their support and for introducing me to Ben Alexander. There were many more who took an interest and offered advice or introduced us to others who will be helpful going forward. There is not enough space or time for me to thank everyone who helped us out at the show. Thanks again to everyone who helped!

I met many of the folks who were on the first season of Fore Inventors Only. That was particularly valuable to me personally since we share so many of the same experiences and dreams. Each one was generous with their time and was happy to answer my questions and offer encouragement. I really feel a connection to these folks and wish them well!
I am now working with some manufacturing partners and we are on track for Fall shipments. I am doing everything I can to keep the manufacturing here in the USA and am doing pretty well so far. There are some design improvements in the works and I am really excited about it.

Blog Inspiration

I am a backyard inventor who has decided to throw caution to the wind and start up a company based on one of my ideas. Yes, I am crazy. I am starting this blog so other crazy people like me can follow along and learn from my mistakes and hopefully from my success. I, for one, owe much to others who have helped me to learn and grow to the point where I have convinced myself that I might be able to make this work. The list of people I have to thank is long and I hope to give due credit at some point along the line. For now, please visit my new company website and let me know what you think or if you have any questions that might help you to start your own business. I will do what I can to provide guidance, if not answers. At the moment, I am preparing for the Orlando PGA Merchandise Show in January. I have a whole new respect for people who handle trade show preparations for their employers. It is just a monstrous and overwhelming task.
